Walter "Walt" White is a fictional character in the American television drama series Breaking Bad on AMC. Played by Brian Cranston, Walter was a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer who resorted to manufacturing methamphetamine to ensure his family's financial security. As the series progressed, Walter transformed into a devious and ruthless drug kingpin who stopped at nothing to ensure that his money would be left to his family. The series highlighted the many faces of addiction, which was the motivation for this fund being created. Proceeds will support programs dealing with mental health issues and drug addiction. Vernon's Steakhouse created the Walter White Endowment Fund to benefit nonprofit organizations dealing with drug abuse in Albuquerque.
At this point, the fund has grown to over $22,000 and donations continue to trickle in. The Bernalillo County Sheriff Department is quoted as saying the event had a powerful impact on raising awareness of drug addiction in our city and the funds will help immediately for those being served by Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. Thank you to everyone who donated to the fund and if you are interested in helping this cause, donate by clicking the "Donate Now" button above..
There are still many ways to get involved and give to the Walter White Fund. We are auctioning off the original funeral painting, "Live Bad, Die Bad" The Faces of Walter White. We are also auctioning off two identical GMC Yukons that were used as DEA Agent Steven Gomez' car in the show. Click on the photos below to view the auction pages.
