Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nichol Scholarship Program

This fund was established in 2003 by the family in memory of Mr. Rose and in honor of his Aunt Eva.
The Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nickol Scholarship Fund established in honor of 1951 Albuquerque HIgh School (AHS) alum and 1957 West Point grad Barnes W. Rose, Jr., and his aunt, longtime New Mexico resident, Eva Rose Nickol.
The fund will award a $750 scholarship to an AHS graduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the STEM majors: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics
A priority will be given to those pursuing Engineering-related Careers. Applicants should demonstrate math and/or science interest and skill through SAT/ACF scores and/or strong grades in appropriate high school classes.
Additional Criteria:
- Minimum cumulative GPA 3.6
- Demonstrate financial need
- Attend a college or university in pursuit of a degree in one of the STEM majors
- Personal essay should describe career goals related to the STEM majors, and demonstrate a passion for his/her chosen career
Additional Required attachments:
- Minimum of one reference from an AHS math/science teacher
- Up to two additional references programs may be submitted.
