Kyle Zimmerman, successful local photographer, has donated her talent to help nonprofit organizations tell their story.
Local Photographer Gives Back To Community
08/04/2010“From my busy portrait studio, I have reached a place in my life and career where I want to dedicate more of my work and self to serving the community,” states Zimmerman. Zimmerman contacted the Albuquerque Community Foundation because of the diversity of work the Foundation does and the myriad of photographic possibilities. Initially, twelve organizations, all grant recipients of the Community Foundation were selected for on-location work with the goal of creating a visual legacy for the organization and the public. “I intend to produce art which not only serves to enlighten, enrich and inform the community, but also serves the beneficiaries of the Community Foundation,” said Zimmerman. After the photos were completed, Zimmerman donated a beautiful, original designed coffee table book along with a CD of the collection to each of the twelve nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation was given copies of all for unlimited use.
The success of the project led to a second year which is just now being completed. This time, six nonprofit organizations were selected to participate. Those organizations, Meals on Wheels, Hawks Aloft, PB&J, Art in the School, Global Opportunities and The Storehouse will receive their photos during a “Coffee with Kyle” celebration at the Community Foundation office on Tuesday, April 13, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The organizations will see large format images the Community Foundation has selected to decorate the Gorham Family Community Conference Room in their office at 3301 Menaul N.E. and a sneak peak at the Annual Report to the Community currently being printed for distribution at their annual luncheon on May 7.
