Community Foundation Awards $1.6 Million in 4th Quarter Grants
Albuquerque Community Foundation awarded $1.6 million in grants to New Mexico nonprofits during the fourth quarter of 2007. Over the same period last year the Foundation awarded $992,000.
“2007 was a record year, over $3.1 million was granted throughout the year, while the Foundation’s endowment grew to over $57 million”, said Randy Royster, Executive Director.
Programs receiving grants this quarter include: Christina Kent Day Nursery, Children’s Cancer Fund, Adelante Development Center, All Faiths Receiving Home, Acción New Mexico, Assistance League, Roadrunner Food Bank, Southwest Creations Collaborative, the Storehouse, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and the UNM Children’s Chorus.
The Foundation awards grants to address the most pressing needs of the community in six fields-of-interest: Arts & Culture, Children & Youth, Education, Environmental & Historic Preservation, and Health and Human Services.
The first competitive grant deadline for 2008 is April 16.
