Minnie Gooch Hall

Born in 1904, Minnie was a confident woman who liked to dance at night by the campfire on her 1,000 acre farm in the east Sandia Mountains.

A widow at the age of 37 with no children, Minnie was forced to lease the farm and move to Albuquerque.

Though it was a long wagon ride on unpaved roads, Minnie never stopped visiting her beloved farm. Even after marrying a second time, Minnie lived a frugal life, saving the income from her farm.

When she died in 1994 at the age of 90, Minnie entrusted her estate to her long-time attorney and friend who managed it until this year. Wanting to ensure that Minnie's legacy would live forever, he established the Minnie Gooch Hall Charitable Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation. This unrestricted "Impact" fund will provide grants to meet ever-changing community needs, now and forever.
