Maggie’s Giving Circle
A giving circle is a pooled fund that makes grants to benefit the community. Members of the circle pool their time, talent, and resources to impact social change.
Giving Circles make philanthropy accessible to people who are at different income levels and stages of their careers and lives.
Each member of the Circle is required to give a predetermined contribution to the group each year.
The dollars are pooled with the Foundation’s other funds, and the income from the investment is distributed in grants. Members then determine where those grant dollars will go each year.
In 2009, the fourth year, of Maggie’s Giving Circle members formalized governance procedures including officers for the Advisory Committee member categories. The Committee voted to establish a category of Lifetime Members to acknowledge those women who have completed a commitment of $3,000 or more in contributions to the Maggie’s Giving Circle Endowment Fund.

The Grantmaking Committee is also a Standing Committee which as convenes as needed especially in late summer/early fall to review grant proposals and make recommendations on grants to the full membership at the Annual Membership Meeting.
