Carl Scott
Born one year after New Mexico was admitted to the Union, Carl Scott called New Mexico home for 90 years.
A graduate of New Mexico Military Institute, Mr. Scott served in World War II. After suffering an injury and becoming disabled, he returned to New Mexico to work as an engineer for the Civil Service.
Mr. Scott was a private man who lived a simple life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed his sport in all regions of the state.
After retirement, he focused his energy toward helping others by delivering food for Meals on Wheels.
Through the Foundation, Mr. Scott created two endowment funds: one to benefit New Mexico Military Institute, and the second to benefit graduating high school seniors from Quay County going on to college.
