Step 2: Requirements and Guidelines

Nonprofit organizations are invited to submit funding requests once each calendar year. Those organizations which received funding in 2011 must be current with any and all grant reporting requirements to be considered in 2012.
Please note the following:
- Grants are normally made for a one-year period.
- The Foundation will not consider more than one proposal to the Competitive Grant Program from an organization during 2012.
- Grant requests must be a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $15,000.
- The average grant in 2011 was $8,072.
NEW FOR 2012!
The Foundation has adopted a new range for grant requests based on the organization’s total income from the most recently completed fiscal year.
- If your total income was under $500,000 you may apply for up to $10,000 in funding, but not more than 20% of that income amount.
- If your total income was $500,000 or more, you may apply for up to $15,000 in funding.
A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization may serve as fiscal agent for a community group. The fiscal agent should read Step 2a: Requirements for Fiscal Agents and then contact the Foundation for any additional instructions before an application is submitted. The fiscal agent must clearly demonstrate their relationship to the sponsored group.
Cover Sheet
This cover sheet should be used for the cover letter on your proposal. A second letter is NOT accepted.
