Providing engaging activities for children with autism.
Arts Adventures Autism Program offers engaging and educational learning experiences for children with autism and respite for often over-stressed families. Post-participation surveys of parents conducted over the 4-year life of the program found that not only do parents get a break and their children have a good time, but also that social and communication skills are expanded and sensory defensiveness is diminished. Early intervention and social skill development will help many autistic individuals succeed in employment and community integration.
