Rio Grande Community Farm
What one "Big Blue" tractor can do for many years to come..
The funds from Albuquerque Community Foundation helped Rio Grande Community Farm purchase there very own tractor in order to grow the food needed to sustain their needs and their farm. Up until this, all tractor work was contracted out and paid at a rate of $75/hour. This did work well, but they still needed tractor work performed full time. The purchase of this tractor coincided with their first year as an AmeriCorps Program Service agency, with 9 AmeriCorps members working full time on the farm.
