Los Reyes de Alburquerque
Over 45 years ago, founders of Los Reyes formed a band to perform the traditional Hispanic Nuevomexicano music they love.
In 1983, Los Reyes started a program called ‘Music Enhancement for the Elderly’ that was designed to bring Hispanic music to seniors in nursing homes and senior centers. One of their first grants was from the Community Foundation in 1984. Since then they have performed thousands of concerts expanding from senior and nursing care centers to adult day care centers, child care and development centers, meal-sites for the homeless and public elementary schools.
