This grant supports two of JFS’ Aging Well at Home programs, Housekeeping/ Companion and Senior Transportation.

JFS services are available to people of all religions and ethnicities.  

Seniors living alone often feel and isolated.  Housekeeping/Companion provides in-home support on a sliding-fee scale to seniors having difficulty with chores such as housekeeping, light meal preparation, driving themselves for grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments or social activities.  This grant provided funding for170 seniors.

Low-income apartments are available for seniors who are no longer able to live completely independently, JFS’ Senior Transportation program provides group trips for residents living in one of these buildings. 

Through on-going contact, drivers and companions develop a familiarity with the clients and are able to pass on information to case mangers.
