Grant Stories
Bosque School/BEMP
The Bosque Environmental Monitoring Project (BEMP) at Bosque School allows students to experience hands on learning.
The grant covered transportation costs for more than 1000 students from their schools to the Bosque Environmental Monitoring Project (BEMP) Outreach office and field location at Bosque School. This trip afforded students, grades K-12, the chance to learn about New Mexico riparian (riverside) habitat, picnic by the Rio Grande, and collect data for the University of New Mexico's long term ecological research network. Students’ experiences with BEMP enrich their classroom education, their community, and, most importantly, their connection to the local landscape.
