Highlights
- The Community Foundation recently changed its fiscal year end from June 30 to December 31.
- Allocated $6.2 million in grants and program distributions (over the 18 month period between July 2007 through December 2008) to nonprofit organizations that impact the quality of life in the greater Albuquerque area;
- Of the $6.2 million granted, $377,000 was in scholarships and financial aid through 11 student aid funds;
- Watched as the unfortunate economic downturn shattered endowment funds nationwide; our loss was less severe than that of many of our peers. The loss of 20.6% on the endowment pool left our assets under management at $41 million.
- Received the 2008 Samaritan Counseling Center’s New Mexico Ethics in Business Award in the Not-for-Profit category;
- Committed substantial financial and time resources to the New Mexico Collaboration to End Hunger.
- Recently chosen by Lt. Governor Diane Denish to house the New Mexico Office of Philanthropic Outreach.
